No used car in our budget is perfect (except maybe the Fiat I posted earlier), but this one ticked all the right boxes, and the price ($3750) was more in line with what I wanted to pay than the $6500 my wife was willing to spend.
2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5 sport wagon. I think the nose and grille are very handsome.
It is surprisingly fun to drive, with plenty of twist to get you moving. It revs to redline much more quickly than the Sunchaser, which is different. I enjoyed driving it across town. My son is driving the residential streets of our neighborhood slowly to practice rowing gears. He really wants to drive it to school Monday.
i have a brother in law who is a Subie nut. We will see what he thinks of this. Be honest, Oppo, NP or CP at $3750?

Flush coolant and run that additive. Run a 40wt or above oil.

NP to me! They are good cars - that is a nice looking Hawkeye. Glad you enjoyed driving it - the 2.5L may be the non turbo engine, but I always found mine an enjoyable drive. I think they are around 170hp?
The clutch was a lot heavier than the one in my current Accent, but it was an enjoyable transmission. As a #savethemanuals enthusiast, glad to see it is a stick too! :)
Has he driven stick much before?

NP! I had a 2002, not much different than the 2007, basically it’s a non turbo WRX with a slightly softer suspension. The cars are very fun to toss around and the AWD is amazing.

I’d buy that all day for that price. It amazes me how cheap solid cars are out in California. I guess when property values are ridiculously high, there has to be a trade-off somewhere.

Nice! Interior is very familiar to me!
How many miles? Mine was $3500 with 135k miles, but of course it ended up needing work. If this one is well-sorted, even if the miles are higher, I say NP
